Today I feel a great sense of gratitude, I looked at my beautiful children as I dropped them at school and watched them walking together towards the school gate and my heart was just beaming with gratitude.
I came back home and made my bed and became very much aware that I am healthy, and I can make up my bed, because I know there is someone somewhere who can’t even lift their head from their pillow.
I had a bowl of cereal as I got ready to start my day, and that again filled my heart with gratitude because I understand there is someone who can’t remember when they had their last meal.
Gratitude doesn’t mean you have everything you want in life or that all is going according to your plan, there will still be unmet expectations and broken promises, but being intentional about focusing your energy on what is going well and leaving the rest to your maker, knowing very well that he is the one in control.
No amount of worrying is going to add a single hour to your life, so why worry!
I invite you this week to shift your attention and focus on things that are going well in your life and see how the week will be, in terms of your energy and your openness to connect genuinely with yourself and people around you.
