When we speak of the process of metamorphosis; we like to give an example of the caterpillar who turns into a beautiful butterfly. We revel much on the possibility of change but rarely on the discomfort that comes with it.
No one speaks of how the caterpillar has to give up his comfort zone, be confined in a limiting and suffocating gooey cocoon in order to become a beautiful butterfly.
It is our willingness to be uncomfortable that opens the door to change. As Bryant McGill said, ” Whatever makes you uncomfortable is your biggest opportunity for growth!”
Our comfort zones should only be used for recovery and restoration. We shouldn’t camp in them.
It is up to us to constantly look for challenges and risks, to motivate ourselves. So from today onwards, if you find yourself in a very uncomfortable position. Know that you are growing for the better. Always take advantage of your discomfort.
